Victorian casement windows are a classic feature of many period properties, combining elegant proportions with larger panes of glass than those typically found in earlier Georgian designs. As glass manufacturing improved during the Victorian era (1837–1901), window styles evolved to incorporate fewer glazing bars and larger glazed areas, allowing more natural light into the home while retaining traditional character.
Our bespoke Victorian casement windows are handcrafted to reflect the style and detailing of original Victorian windows, while benefiting from modern energy-efficient glazing, draught-proofing and security features. A true flush casement profile, where the opening sash sits flush within the frame, gives the authentic, slimline appearance of traditional joinery.

Initial quotation
We provide an initial quotation within 1–3 days of your enquiry.

Site survey
Within 1–2 weeks we measure and document the openings on site, recording profiles, sightlines and any conservation status.

Drawings & approval
We produce production drawings and a specification for your approval — and to support any planning or listed building consent.

Manufacture
Once your specification is approved, each window is crafted to your approved specification. Typically 5–8 weeks; 7–12 weeks for larger or bespoke conservation work.

What is a Victorian casement window?
A Victorian casement window is a side-hung timber window in the Victorian style, with larger panes and fewer glazing bars than earlier Georgian designs. Unlike a sash window, which slides vertically, a casement is hinged and opens outward. We make ours as true flush casements with period detailing.
What is the difference between Georgian and Victorian casement windows?
Georgian casements have more, smaller panes divided by fine glazing bars; Victorian casements use fewer bars and larger glazed areas, as improved glass manufacturing allowed bigger panes. Both are available as true flush casements, matched to your property's era.
Can Victorian casement windows be double glazed?
Yes. Slimline double glazing achieves a whole-window U-value of approximately 1.6–1.9 W/m²K, and vacuum glazing approximately 0.8–1.0 W/m²K, while keeping slim sightlines and authentic detailing.
